Happy Slapowitz’s Toy Bash 2023
The Happy Slapowitz’s Toy Bash is always an event I look forward to every year. The one night when there are live local bands in nearly every bar in Downtown Cape. You can hop back and forth, running into old friends and familiar faces, celebrating and toasting in the revelry and memories, and all the while for a wonderful cause.
It might even help your case to get off Santa’s naughty list. But no guarantees.
For those like me who like an easy-to-read list, here’s the band lineup and where they’ll be…

What is the Happy Slapowitz Toy Bash?
The Happy Slapowitz’s Toy Bash is an annual event held in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, that aims to collect donations, both monetary and in the form of tangible toys, for the local Toys for Tots campaign. Originally starting as a house party, the event has expanded to include a dozen local venues and regional bands, all volunteering their space and time. The event, characterized by live music, food, and a lively downtown atmosphere, occurs once per year. Entry is granted through a cash donation, donation of a new unwrapped toy, or by wearing a Toy Bash T-shirt. The donations collected are used to purchase toys for local children.
